Presently, the levels of this course include the CPT or the common proficiency test, the IPCC or the integrated professional competency course, and the CA Final level. Join the institute popular for Top CA Coaching in Kolkata to pass in your first attempt. The entry-level examination is the CPT and is presently structured in the pattern of the entry-level exams for medical, engineering, or any other professional courses. The students who are now in the final year of graduation may also apply for IPCC on the professional basis. The last level of this course is designed for imparting expert knowledge in auditing, financial reporting, taxation, system control, corporate laws, strategic finance, advanced management accountancy, and professional ethics.

The weightage of some of the subjects of the first level has changed. The fundamentals of accounting paper that is already there at CPT level carrying sixty marks, is now renamed as the principles and practices of accounting and will now carry hundred marks as this is the core subject for this profession. Commercial knowledge and general English and business are also added at the primary level. This is to make sure that the first level can be somewhat tough. The CA Foundation examination will be tougher now and will be partly objective and partly subjective. The MCQ based questions in the old curriculum encouraged the applicants to do lots of guesswork as a result of which, even the non-deserving students reached the second level easily. This affects the quality of this profession. Since the exam is likely to be partly objective and partly descriptive, the pass percentage is now set as 50% on the whole as an aggregate and 40% on each subject. This examination is likely to be held along with the intermediate and the final level.

Another change in the curriculum is that the students will have to appear for 8 papers in the second level that is the intermediate level. The second level was the IPCC that needed a student to clear 7 papers in the previous syllabus. The business laws’ papers carrying sixty marks, communication paper carrying twenty marks, and ethics carrying twenty marks in the old curriculum is now changed to the corporate and other laws carrying a total of hundred marks. Cost accounting carries hundred marks now instead of fifty marks. A new paper of business economic environment carrying forty marks is added to the new structure. A completely new subject given the name as financial and capital market services is proposed in the last level of the Foundation examination to make every professional more competitive in the finance related areas. International taxation carrying thirty marks is also introduced in view of the increasing significance of the subject in today’s globalized world. The new syllabus is prepared by the ICAI and has to be followed by every institute offering the coaching of the Top CA Foundation in Kolkata.
